Healthy After-school Snack Idea
CRISPY & SPICY SNACK MIX
Ingredients:
-2 cups corn or rice cereal (Chex or Crispix)
-1 cup tiny pretzels
-1/2 cup reduced fat wheat crackers (Wheat Thins)
-1/2 cup reduced fat cheddar crackers (Cheez-It)
-1 1/2 tbsp butter, melted
-1 tbsp ginger stir-fry sauce
-1 tsp chili powder
-1 tsp ground cumin
-1/4 tsp salt
-cooking spray
Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
2. Combine the first 4 ingredients in a bowl.
3. Combine butter, stir-fry sauce, chili powder, cumin and salt; drizzle over cereal mixture, tossing to coat.
4. Spread mixture onto a baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
5. Bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes or until crisp, stirring twice.
This recipe makes 8 - 1/2 cup servings!
